The Colorado offense (#25) has been faltering just a bit down the stretch as fall hits its stride. They had an up and down October where they played pretty well against meh defenses (OSU, ASU) and played pretty poorly against good defenses (USC, Stanford). They Buffs need to step their game up on offense to close out the season strong. They, and Utah, control their own destiny in the South race, but the Buffs get them at home.

Colorado is pretty great at Drive Efficiency and Play Efficiency. They don't get pushed off the field and they put up points and they get a good yards per play average, which is fairly consistent. Colorado is pretty good at Negative Drives. They don't go 3 and out very often. Colorado isn't bad at Explosive Drives, but it is definitely something holding back their offense from being great. You could say the same thing about their 3rd down and D-plus Plays.

UCLA's defense (#16) has a pretty poor game against Utah two weeks ago and that dropped them out of the top 10, but this is still an incredible set of athletes coached by one of the best coordinators in the game. It is worth pointing out that Williams beat them repeatedly on the cutback for all those yards and I mean repeatedly. The UCLA line and backers were too aggressive chasing the point of attack and forgot to contain the backside. Colorado showed against ASU that they can line up and run it, and then struggled against a Stanford team that tackles really well in space. UCLA is a lot more like Stanford than ASU.

UCLA is excellent at Negative Drives and very good at Play Efficiency and Explosive Drives. This defense is good at forcing 3 and outs. They don't give up a lot of big plays or give up a lot of yards per play.

UCLA isn't great at 3rd down, D-plus Plays, or Drive Efficiency. They have been a less consistent as the season has gone on. Utah was able to drive on them, though the 5 turnovers the offense gave out in the game certainly didn't help. Colorado could be a challenge for this defense.
