The UCLA offense (#51) hasn't been good all year, so anyone thinking this is Josh Rosen being out can start panicking about the O-line, system, and play calling. The offense has played a bit better since they opened up and quit trying to prove Jim Mora's spirit animal wasn't a unicorn, but they had a really tough outing against an excellent Colorado defense last week. Oregon State isn't anywhere near that kind of level so UCLA has a chance to put it together a bit.

UCLA is good at Negative Drives and Explosive Drives. They are also good on 3rd down and at D-plus Plays. This offense does have some play makers out on the perimeter and when they can get them the ball good things can happen.

UCLA isn't very good at Drive Efficiency or Play Efficiency. This team lacks much consistency and they struggle to put together a good push off the snap. They are going to have to work to be more consistent against Oregon State. OSU isn't Utah, but even OSU can win if you gift them 5 turnovers.

Oregon State's defense (#44) is playing pretty well and improving. They had a pretty good game against the Cardinal, though Stanford still pulled out the win. UCLA is a similar challenge to Stanford in that the Bruin defense is going to give the offense some pretty good field position and that is going to make the Beaver D have to work to keep them in the game.

Oregon State is actually really good at Drive Efficiency. They are consistent and they find ways to get off the field. It helps that they are also very good on 3rd down.

Oregon State isn't very good at the per play metrics. They are not much better or worse than average at Play Efficiency, Explosive Drives, and Negative Drives. They are also not great at D-plus Plays. This Beavers defense is doing a lot of things right. They are certainly good enough to be trouble to UCLA's mediocre offense.
