Until Weeks 6-7 the model outputs are directional, but useful

The Oregon State offense (#104) isn't very good. They have some moments, but when they have those moments it is usually against bad teams. I certainly hope there is a bright side to this for OSU fans and that they are playing a lot of young guys. Also you get Cal this week and their defense is also terrible.

Oregon State is pretty good at Drive Efficiency and that is a good sign. They find ways to connect on drives, despite their underlying weakness at the yards per play type drive stats. It helps that they are pretty good on 3rd down and at preventing D-plus Plays.

Oregon State is really, extremely, really bad at Play Efficiency, Explosive Drives, and preventing Negative Drives. If you could pick one of these to improve on, you should work on creating more Explosive Drives, but all these metrics being in the tank point to some major issues on the line.

California's defense (#73) isn't very good either and they have a habit of being just bad/good enough to keep Bear's fans looking for the Maalox. Cal needs to put some things together on defense if they want to win more games on the back stretch.

Cal's defense isn't really good at anything, but they did have a goal line stand last week after they let a bad Utah offense stick around all game, so given that most people have the attention span of a wired beagle, Cal's defense has a pretty good week.

Cal's defense is bad at Drive Efficiency, Play Efficiency, Explosive Drives, Negative Drives, D-plus Plays, and 3rd down. So pretty much everything. This isn't an injury issue, as plagued Arizona last year, Cal was bad last year too. This isn't an aberration.
