The Stanford offense (#91) is the worst in the Pac-12 by a comfortable margin, but here is the good news; they don't play another good defense for the rest of the year. So here is a great chance to look good and not move up in the model over the next three weeks. They knocked around Arizona, who is terrible, and did Ok against an OK Oregon State defense. Oregon offers a chance to look as good as they will look all year.

Stanford is actually pretty good at Play Efficiency and Negative Drives. They are also pretty good on 3rd down and D-plus Plays. Stanford gets a decent push off the line and doesn't go 3 and out often, but those two are the least important components of Offensive Beta_Rank.

Stanford is pure crap at Drive Efficiency and Explosive Drives; the two most important parts of Offensive Beta_Rank. They are not good at execution, play-calling, or consistency. This offensive line just isn't getting things done. They are also not explosive in the least; which is amazing considering who they have in the backfield and how much speed they have out on the perimeter now.

Oregon's defense (#109) is also the worst in the Pac-12, so this game could be really exciting despite the fact that both teams are not really well balanced. They did enough two weeks ago against a 'meh' ASU offense, but came back to earth last week against a USC offense that has been rolling for the last few games. Oregon has a chance to look good against Stanford.

Oregon is pretty good on 3rd down when you control for the SOS and they are fully average at Play Efficiency.

Oregon is really awful at Drive Efficiency, but only mildly bad at Explosive Drives, Negative Drives, and D-plus Plays. Oregon is really inconsistent. They don't execute and the play calling isn't there, also talent. Oregon wouldn't be nearly as bad on defense if they could put it together, but if it is a young defense then they are getting the necessary reps.
