The USC offense (#22) is very good. They aren't at the kind of great you might expect given that their skill position players would be starters at every Pac-12 program, but they have really played better over their win streak. They haven't played a good defense in a few weeks though and that is going to be a challenge for a USC team that has been pounding the Arizona's and ASU's of the world.

USC is very good at the per play metrics. They are tops in the country at Negative Drives and they are very good at Play Efficiency and Explosive Drives. They don't go 3 and out very often and they are really an explosive offense, something that has clicked for them since Darnold has taken over. They are also good a 3rd down and D-plus Plays.

USC isn't good at all at Drive Efficiency. This offense isn't consistent and a lot of that is on the offensive line, but some of it is just on Darnold growing into the starting role. USC will have to clean up the consistency issue in this game because the Washington offense is going to put up points and put pressure on them.

Washington's defense (#11) has been putting it together better as the season has gone on, and they are closing in on being really great as the season closes. They haven't had a really bad game since they let Brandon Dawkins run all over them, but they haven't had a totally dominant performance against a good to great offense. The model is fairly impressed with what they did against Cal and Oregon, two of the best Pac-12 offenses, and USC presents another opportunity to impress and put a tighter lock on a playoff spot.

Washington is really good at per play metrics. They are excellent at Negative Drives and really good at Play Efficiency and Explosive Drives. This defense forces a lot of 3 and outs, doesn't allow big plays, and keeps teams from putting up solid YPP numbers underneath. Washington has improved some of their consistency numbers in Drive Efficiency. They aren't great at it, but they are pretty good and that is an improvement that they can build on towards the end of the season.

Washington is not great at 3rd down or D-plus Plays when you control for their SOS. They are not creating enough turnovers this year.
