The Utah offense (#56) played really really badly against a miserable Oregon defense. Utah managed to lose to both Oregon and Cal this year and both of those losses are entirely on their offense. The unit had been improving since Joe Williams un-retired, but they will face a truly stiff challenge this week against the Buffaloes. If they play like last week this game won't even be close.

Utah is excellent at Negative Drives and very good at Play Efficiency. They don't go 3 and out often and they get a good push off the ball. They are also good on 3rd down and D-plus Plays.

Utah is pretty mediocre at Drive Efficiency and Explosive Drives. They don't put up as many points relative to yards as you expect and they certainly are not an explosive offense.

Colorado's defense (#2) is tearing it up under Jim Leavitt this season, but they really struggled dealing with Brandon Dawkins last week. If Arizona had competent red zone play calling Colorado might have found themselves in a game, but Arizona just ran really dumb plays. It should not fuss Colorado too much though; when Dawkins is healthy he is a load to deal with, just ask Washington. Colorado played exceptionally well last week, aided by some really bad drops by WSU. This week they just have to contain Utah, which is a much less serious challenge than what they just did last week.

Colorado is excellent at Drive Efficiency, Play Efficiency, Negative Drives, and they are very very good at Explosive Drives, 3rd down, and D-plus Plays. This defense is phenomenal and they have few weaknesses. The key for the defense is for the offense and special teams to not leave them with too many short fields to defend.
